The prescription is always in the other bag

Most Indian families keep health records in a plastic folder, a drawer, or a WhatsApp chat with themselves. It works until the day it matters — a 9pm emergency, a new doctor asking what your mother is already taking, an insurance claim that needs a discharge summary from two years ago.

Phone galleries make it worse, not better. A photo of a prescription is findable for about a week. After that it is buried under a thousand other pictures, and you are scrolling in a hospital corridor.

The deeper problem is that one person is usually managing records for four or five people. An adult child managing a parent who will never open an app. A parent managing two children on different vaccination schedules. Any tool that assumes one user per account fails at exactly this point.

What you get

A separate record for each person

Tap a name and everything below changes — their medicines, their reports, their visits, their insurance. Nobody has to create an account. You add your mother in ten seconds and manage everything for her.

Prescriptions written the way doctors write them

Tap Morning, Afternoon or Night and gocrd records it as 1-0-1, the notation on every Indian prescription. Before food or after food is a first-class field, not a note. Brand and salt are stored separately, so the pharmacy can substitute safely.

Reminders that actually arrive

Set an end date on a course and you are reminded before the strip runs out. Mark a follow-up and you are reminded on the day. Renewal dates on insurance policies remind you 30 days ahead, not the morning it lapses.

Lab reports locked, prescriptions quick

Lab reports, scans and discharge summaries are encrypted in your browser with your own PIN — nobody else can read them, including us. Prescriptions and bills stay unlocked so you can show a doctor in one tap.

An emergency card that is actually visible

Blood group, allergies and the emergency contact sit at the top of each person’s screen, one tap from calling. Not buried three menus deep where nobody will find them in a crisis.

Children’s vaccinations, without guesswork

Record what was given and the next date the doctor advised. gocrd reminds you — it never invents a schedule of its own, because that is a doctor’s job, not an app’s.

Built for how Indian healthcare actually works

Family floater is the default here — the cover belongs to the household, not the individual. So insurance in gocrd is family-level: you tick who a policy covers, and the sum insured sits on the policy where it belongs. Your TPA name and helpline number are one tap from a phone call.

Prescriptions are written 1-0-1, not "twice daily with meals". Brands matter because that is what you ask for at the counter; salts matter because that is what you get. gocrd stores both.

And the person doing the managing is usually not the patient. That single fact shapes the whole design: no login for family members, no phone number required, nothing locked after you add someone.

Common questions

Can I keep records for my parents without them signing up?
Yes. A family member in gocrd is not an account — there is no login, no password and no phone number required. You add them once and manage everything on their behalf. This is deliberate: the most common case is an adult child managing a parent who will never open the app.
Are my medical documents actually private?
Lab reports, scans, discharge summaries and insurance documents are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded, with a key derived from a PIN that never leaves your device. We cannot read them. Prescriptions and bills are stored unencrypted by default so they are quick to show a doctor — you can change that per document.
Will it remind me before my medicines run out?
Yes. Set an end date on a course, or a quantity remaining, and gocrd reminds you before you run out rather than after. The same applies to doctor follow-ups, vaccination due dates and insurance renewals.
Does it work for both my children and my parents at the same time?
Yes. Each person gets their own medicines, reports, visits and vaccination history. A vaccination section appears automatically for children under 18 and stays hidden for adults, so the screen never shows something irrelevant.
Is it free?
There is a free forever plan that covers health records for your family. Paid plans add higher limits and extra modules. No card is needed to start.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. gocrd is a web app that installs to your home screen like a normal app, works on any phone or laptop, and needs no app store download.
